  • Too good not to share 🌹 . I was craving Fry’s Turkish Delight over the weekend (anyone else a fan?) so, inspired by @the_ayurveda_coach (and her creamy cardamom and cinnamon rice porridge), I decided to try something similar with added rose syrup and raw cacao. And a rose hot chocolate on the side because why not? . When you’re a food lover I don’t think there are many acts of self-care greater than taking your time over a meal.   • One of the lovely shots from our shoot with @gillian_morton 💛 . Next week she’s working with us to take portraits for @ilckstudio and I’m excited about this next phase in our business. Jonathan and I are launching our new website in the next few weeks, upgrading our social media and creating a regular newsletter. It all feels a bit more us and a little less like the business belongs to someone else, which it did before we took it on 7 years ago. . I’m also celebrating 14 years in self-employment, which feels unreal! So despite not being in the best of health right now, and struggling a lot these past few days, I‘m turning my attention to the positives ✌🏻 . My business has been my safe haven lately. Carving out time for self-care and learning to ask for help doesn’t come easy but the support I’ve had in the studio has offered me a lifeline. Hypnotherapy has helped me work on my mindset and shift my thought patterns. And business mentoring is keeping me accountable and ensuring I make the most of my time in the studio. It’s all about achieving some kind of balance so I can enjoy my work life as well as my home life ⚖️ . Support has always been important to me. Whether that’s something as simple as reading or journaling, I need tools to stay grounded and remember that I’m doing okay, even if I’m not quite living my best life in that moment. It’s about establishing and focusing on what I CAN do and not what I CAN’T. . Most of all, I just want to set a good example for Cora. I wish I had more energy to be the mum I want to be, but right now my mobility and levels of pain and strength change from one day to the next. So all I can do is keep showing up and keep showing her that when life deals us lemons we can handle it.   • I started subscribing to @thehappynewspaper last year and love seeing it drop through the letterbox 🌈 . The latest issue arrived over the weekend and I’m saving it for our travels (along with my copies of @flow_magazine and @psychologiesmagazine) so this is a snap of the last issue. . It’s all about celebrating those who are doing their bit for others and the planet.   • I first came across this word a few months ago and I smiled when I saw it in @flow_magazine today. . It perfectly describes the deep sense of longing that you can be left with after loss. And while you can also feel saudade for something or somewhere, the past or the future, I happen to feel it for someone 💛 . It brings me comfort to know that there’s a way to describe how I feel, to embrace that which can never be replaced, to hold space for another without the need to fill it with someone or something else. .   • I posted this pic earlier but felt like I was grumbling a little in the caption, forgetting how fortunate I am to have my general health, so here’s my porridge without the back story 🙂 . A cosy bowl of cinnamon and maca overnight oats with almond yoghurt, almond milk, manuka honey and sunflower/chia seeds. Topped with banana, almond butter and cacao nibs. Tried it out for the first time over the weekend and it’s super tasty! . Porridge is perfect if you need a little comfort. And it was just the tonic today.
